Crumbs, there are so many great things in my life, but as this is 95% about work I’ll stick with work things and leave the private things private.
The CD cover from Tatjana was great because it proved that one single programme could make a difference. It’s a long story as to why Santa Maria didn’t chart in the UK whereas it was a big hit in other places around Europe, but safe to say we eventually got the record company to re-release it. By that time only one show in the UK played it, the MediaZoo, and the loyal audience got the track into the Top40. By the way I did say show and not station. In fact we checked it within the industry play lists of the time and stations were not playing it, but we were. Audience power still rules – OK!
to work on a national breakfast show within commercial radio and also work for the BBC. More recently she’s worked on TV projects. And as I always say, we might have opened a tiny door for her, but the reality is LAURA DID IT!
